Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, it received a raving review from music blogs and the press. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two of the most notable covers she has recorded. The singer gained further attention via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music for a love rather than a profession. They encouraged her to compose. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. Responding to her mother's suggestion that people ought not to aim at achieving fame through her songwriting, but instead realize the importance of themselves and their impact on society. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument, at six. She started making music at the age of nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she revealed her plans to her parents. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. As she says, she just loves writing music. For her music, it is the best means of communicating anything.
